For over 30 years, ATECO Engine and Dyno Shop has been known as Northern Illinois’ most complete machine shop. With four full-time ASE certified machinists, ATECO has over 70 years combined experience and talent to master any job.

Our location in Waukegan, IL, places us half-way between Chicago and Milwaukee, WI which is prime territory for high-performance boating and auto racing. Included in our list of custom engines are Honda B-16 Vtec engines, 810HP dirt and asphalt late models as well as marine engines up to 1300HP Poker Run engines. We love the thrill of high performance work, however we are also your “one stop shop” for any machining project or engine rebuild. No job’s too small.

Housed in one location, we have over 55 pieces of strategic equipment, which enables the job to be completed at ATECO, from start to finish. There is no sub-contracting schedule to contend with and no sub-quality workmanship to be concerned with. All work is done on site and thoroughly inspected through each step of the process with your specific application in mind.

All major brands of engine parts and components are kept in stock. We offer custom designed pistons through JE Pistons and special camshaft grinds by Scat Enterprises, Inc. We also stock aluminum and cast cylinder heads, bare or completely reworked and ready to bolt on. We can also furnish anyname brand aftermarket parts necessary for a total package.
