Hi,

My engine build at ATECO ENGINES was finished in the WINTER of last year. I cannot say enough about Bill and His employee Jeff there. I actually went up there to watch my engine dyno tested once it was complete. The outside of the building can be misleading once you go inside and talk to Bill and Jeff you will be pleased they are a TREE of knowledge on motors.

Jeff was the one responible for overseeing it and final testing on the dyno. My engine was a 502 that was built to a 540. When i got there after driving i stayed at a local hotel which was a nice holiday inn, reccomended by Bills wife who handled the directions and phone numbers for me.

Jeff took me through the whole dyno process, they had already done the break in run and changed the oil once.

Jeff was not getting what he needed out of my holly carb and decided to do a modification to the jets (right off his head) which he nailed the first time and included machining out the old jets. Jeff in my opinion and observation is a perfectionist thats extremley good at what he does with engines.

The engine was tested for a while that day and loaded on the truck still warm.

I have had excellent performance out of it, i was a little concerned about building too much motor but Bill made a good match of horsepower while keeping dependability. It dyno at 617 horse before the headers i use were put on it. The boat is a 27 foot and very fast with this 540 package and will hit the high speeds easily. Its actually too fast.. LOL

I have about 12 hrs on it now, unforntunatley i had some injuries that keep me off work, so the boats not used much.

I had one problem with the oil pan gasket being bad and had a leak which had to be fixed by pulling the engine and dropping the oil pan. but overall ATECO was an excellent chioce for me to have build MY engine.

Bottom line:
They are exspensive but well worth it. You get what you pay for in an engine.

I will only use ATECO ENGINE AND DYNO SHOP, in my opinion they are the best and have warranties on their engines and workmanship.
